Hitler and his Axis cohorts are made into silly, comic figures as Madison Avenue grinds out hard and soft propaganda aimed at keeping the war effort alive. In hindsight, much of the material is self-serving and naive, but some of the techniques remain in use today. This incisive program offers examples of heavy-handed messages that filled the American air-waves, including the serious racial attacks on Japanese that helped justify internment of Japanese-American civilians. This program also documents the use of Japanese-American troops fightsing in Italy.
